Window replacement with plastic window installation

Professional window replacement from MARSHALL partners! We now have reseller partners available in all regions of the country, through whom you can order and install high-quality MARSHALL plastic windows and doors.

The window replacement process step by step:

1. Delivery to site

After the windows are manufactured, the new windows and doors are delivered to your home - by appointment, of course. MARSHALL windows are delivered with great care to ensure that the plastic window casings and sash parts remain entirely scratch-free. The strong foil wrapping guarantees this and the protective foil glued to the profile.

2. Preparation and dismantling of the old window

The first step is to remove part of the old window sash to be dismantled. The procedure is similar to that for painting a room, i.e. furniture and objects must be protected with plastic sheeting to prevent dust from reaching them during the window replacement. The area in front of the windows should be kept clear so that partners have easy access to the windows and doors.

3. Professional cutting of the old window

This is followed by cutting the case into smaller pieces. Only in this way is it possible to dismantle the old casement so that the wall and the plaster are damaged as little as possible. The cut window elements are lifted out of the wall and removed. Afterward, the site of the dismantled opening is dusted, and any debris is cleaned up

4. Case attachment

Occasionally, the window casing may need to be widened - e.g. in the case of a roller shutter, or if the façade has already been externally insulated. This can be done with the so-called "attachment." The attachment fits perfectly onto the case, so the professionals first snap these elements on with a hammer and then screw them on.

5. Preparation for leveling

Once the new window is inserted into the opening, the leveling is prepared. To ensure that the plastic window does not move during the operation, it is usually supported with wooden blocks. Special leveling pads are used to achieve the most accurate leveling possible, which ensures perfect horizontal alignment.

6. Accurate, precise leveling

Leveling the window horizontally and vertically is a highly precise operation. Our resale partners will make sure that the window is perfectly level and vertical because only then will the window function perfectly. When this is done, if the installed door or window closes or opens on its own, it is due to inaccuracies in leveling.

7. Fixing the window

Once the level has been measured, the window is fixed to the frame. Depending on the size, the window can be stabilized with a special frame fixing screws of different lengths. Instead of drilling through the case, a so-called case fixing lug, which is attached to the outer edges of the case, can be chosen. This has the advantage of eliminating the need for caps to cover the screw heads. The choice of the correct fixing points and the precise drilling are also crucial operations for preserving the mechanical and thermal insulation capacity of the window.

8. Preparation for applying the insulating foam

After fixing, the wall surface next to the window is cleaned with a water spray. This is necessary to achieve perfect insulation, as the pur-foam used for insulation adheres better to a damp, dust-free surface.

9. Filling gaps with pur foam

After cleaning, the gap between the plastic window and the wall is sealed with pur foam. This material, specially developed for windows, is excellent at filling small gaps, and when it sets, it has excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties. If required, vapor barrier insulation can also be applied (so-called RAL installation), using a vapor barrier film on the inside and a vapor-permeable film on the outside. This will extend the lifetime and insulating capacity of the pur-hab between the masonry and the window by several orders of magnitude, as it will be protected from the harmful effects of condensation. For details and the remarkable benefits of RAL installation, don't hesitate to contact your installation partner!

10. Installation of the windows
